DOWNLOADING FINISHED MIXES TO YOUR PC
November 14 2001 at 11:59 AM

Hello,

I do not have a ps-o2 and am seriously considering buying one..I play alot of acoustic guitar/indie electric music..I was in the mindset that a complete mix could be dowloaded to your pc easy using the smartcard..but I have read on this site that there are problems when doing so..I need to get the mix out of the unit..because I can't bring the unit to every person who wants to hear a quick demo?..It wouldn't look very good..

Any help would be appreciated..

Thanks

There are numerous ways to do this. You can either a)take a line from the output of the PS02 to the input of your PC then use a sound recorder, or b) use a smartmedia card reader. I used the smartcard reader and the only problem that I have is that I lose the mixdown effect in the transfer. However, you can add a new mixdown effect with a sound editing program. Good Luck.

It would be my opinion that if you like the sound in your earphones the best way to get the info out is to record it from the output rather than the smartcard. I'll have to do a comparison between the smartcard and the output, but I thought I heard a sonic difference too. We'll see.
