I meant to ask if anyone had recorded live drums with the built in mic?
Yes--With Excellent Results

I have recorded live drums using the internal microphone, and they come out great. My drummer couldn't believe that the sound transferred so well. I just used one of the preset VOCAL pathces, I think ECHO, and placed the unit at about knee height maybe four feet from the trap set.
Do you have any good guitar patches you could send me? Please email if you do--I;m making a .pdf to post.

Recording a Band

I've found I get good results by putting the PS-02 above the kit(off a hook in the roof) if you want to risk it. It eliminates some of the heavy kick. I'd also suggest you create a whole new patch specially for recording drums. I sat there while my drummer went nuts tweaking until I got a few good patches. I've had even better results with an external mic and using a uni-directional seems to eliminate a majority of hiss and background noise you get with the internal one. Whilst we are talking live recording(as opposed to dead recording) has anyone had any success recording a band in a live jam situation. Low end eq seems to play havoc with this internal mic and I had to get the bass player to turn right down. Anyone got patches for this situation??

No good patches yet. I just got my unit about a week ago. Still learning. Thanks for being so helpful.
