PS-02 to iMac to CD-R? November 13 2001 at 9:58 AM
My wife bought me a PS-02--fabulous device--but so far I've spent more time tinkering with sample rates and tearing my hair out than recording. Like most of us, I want to burn the finished music to CD.
I've read other postings and tried out the advice but I need a couple more answers.
So, I have an iMac and a stereo cable, but no sound recording software. Card Manager is useless for song exporting. Someone suggested using the free Realjukebox download. I couldn't find one for the Mac. Anyone know if there is one, and where? Any other free basic recording programs you can point me to?
I'd expect there is freeware out there to record with. Check www.download.com
I wouldn't touch the Realaudio family of garbage with a ten foot pole personally.
iMac software

The program of choice for the iMac is Protools Free from www.digidesign. You can set your sounds control panel to use the external mic and run a cable from your output to the mic jack on the side of the iMac. It will record beautifully and you can multitrack. This program won't work on an iBook however, because there is no mic jack. Make sure you download the opcode program too. You need it to run protools free. If you have any questions post them here or e-mail me.
