Read your owners manual like a good book, and take time to write down a list of the features you need to re-read or have trouble with. Make yourself a quick reference card you can keep with the unit. You can practice any feature using the built in mic. letting you work out functional concepts untill you can get repeatable results. Then get all of ARMIN's tools advertised at the top of the forum.

Get right into it. Read enough of the manual to start recording then learn to use the features as you need them. Nothing's as good as hands on experience.
