I'm considering the purchase of a PS-02 and have one major question. I've read about the ability to program bass patterns. Problem is, I'm a bass player and want to program drum patterns, record bass tracks and program guitar chords in as backing patterns. Is this possible? Could I program bass patterns and add a distorion effect to them to emulate guitar tones? If I can do this, I'll be running to get one.
Thanks for helpin' the newbie,
Scott
The PS02 has only preset pattern with preset sounds.
You can build your own pattern with the PS02PatternEditor. http://www.soundside.de
You cant change the sound of the bass jet.
(I hope to develop a program to change the sounds of the bass this year)

Not sure if Armin answered your question.
You can't program guitar chords into the rhythm track. It only plays drums and a monophonic (one note at a time) bass track. You can edit the drum patterns with Armin's software, or you can string together the preset drum patterns to make new songs.
Of course you could make backing tracks with your computer, transfer them to the PS-02, and play along with them.

It's true the 'bass' is monophonic. But if you use a polyphonic guitar sample...
