Nice tune, Barak. The quality is excellent in every respect. Almost sounds too good to have come from that tiny device!

I know. I've just had my PS-02 for a few days. I'm blown away by what it can do.

Very nice!
I like the ambiance on the vocals and the Guitar/Vocal balance.
Quick work from a new owner.

Very tastefulFebruary 21 2002, 5:48 PM

Very tasteful indeed.

It would be interesting to hear how you created this. You have obviously performed some bouncing. Are the vocals 2 takes, or did you use some effect to get the stereo voicing? It sounds like you have not used the PS02 rhythm track at all.

A big thumbs up from over here.

Jarv.

Re: new MP3February 21 2002, 5:53 PM

I laid down the acoustic guitar part. Then did two tracks of vocals. Panned them each separately. it's called double tracking. Then bounced that all down to two channels and recorded the bass. Bounced to stereo again and recorded the electric rythm part. Bounced one last time and recorded the lead.

All the acoustic and vocal parts are just using the PS-02's internal mic. The bass and electric parts are plugged directly into the unit.

Patch?February 21 2002, 5:56 PM

What was the patch you used for the vocal and guitar recording.

Also, should be "Too soon", not "To soon"

Re: new MP3February 21 2002, 6:09 PM

I don't have a patch list sitting in front of me... but I think these are the patches i used...

acoustic guitar: AG-BRT
vocals: VO-ROK
electric rhythm: RCKBLY
lead: BEATON or a variation of that
bass: B-FNGR

I might be remembering wrong, I played around with several of them before I recorded the song. But I think that's right.

Very GoodFebruary 21 2002, 10:19 PM

Barak ... excellent ... really enjoyed it. You must have a gift for arranging/mixing not to leave out talent ... wish I could get something that sounded as good. I think I've made progress from my initial attempts but it’s been slow for me. Wish you continued success in your music.

Mic'd acoustic, or direct?February 22 2002, 6:03 PM

Did you go direct in, or use mic for acoustic? Sounds very, very natural. What acoustic do you use?

Re: new MP3February 25 2002, 11:01 AM

I just used the PS-02's internal mic for the acoustic.

The guitar is a Gibson CL-10.

where was the mic positioned?February 25 2002, 11:23 AM

Where did you put the ps-02 and its internal mic relative to the guitar? Near the sound hole, neck, bridge? Up or down from the hole center.

Re: new MP3February 25 2002, 11:37 AM

I just set the PS-02 on my knee right in front of the guitar.

That Gibson is a smaller body than a dreadnought. So positioning it like that would have put the mic in front of the sound hole, but more towards the neck side. And obviously, sitting on my knee it would have been low in comparison to the sound hole.
