lining sinlge tracks

| Any suggestions for editing on a computer? I'm goingfrom the phone out to my sound card and then I have a problem. I can't seem to line each track up perfectly. I record track 1 then 2 then 3 and they are all off a little. Any programs that can line me up right? Best recording software? I have no MIDI inputs just the line in on the sound card? Is the unit that uses USB to exchange info from the smart card to the computer good for this or what is it good for? Take care and thanks.

It was suggested in an earlier thread that you record the tracks with a count in. That way it is easy to line up the "drumstick" counts thus lining up all your tracks quite neatly.
