| Ok I want ot know everything before I buy this unit so please help me... Can I punch-in and out on it? Also is it possible to set up indexes so I can have an effect in a certain spot... for example say I am recording a song and I want a clean sound all the way to the chorus and then I want distortion, can I do that if so how? Also do the drums sound good for hard rock music? Also if you can think of anything else to make me want to buy this please tell me or if it sucks tell me why!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

so I can't say that the PS-02 will be perfect for you but I would suggest you do what I did before I bought the PS-02 - download the manual in *.pdf format from the zoom website (www.zoom.co.jp? I think) That will answer most of your questions as well as give you a list of the cool effects and the ok drum sounds.(I've been using a drum machine but only because its fully programable). As for changing effects during a song thats a tad bit of a disappointment but because the PS-02 is a fully digital recorder you can smoothly punch-in different effects throughout the song. |

Curtis ... I did exactly what Dempsey suggested with downloading manual and believe that really helped me. Once I got mine, I keep the provided manual close by and didn't hesitate to get use it to get used to going to it when I had questions ... I think once you establish the things you will normally be doing it will become very intuitive very quickly ... that's what happen in my case.
Can I punch-in and out on it? Yes
Effects Index? In another post I suggested that Zoom in the future, provide an option to be able to program what effects patch to use on which track like in the rhythm track programming which I think is what your question was.
In the mean time I moved my patches around so that patches I want to switch between are close together and then I can usually just tap the PS-02 cursor button to switch during the normal break in a song. When that's not good enough I use the punch-in capability, which for me works great.
Of course everything is relative and what I find acceptable may not meet other's standards but I'm still amazed with this little unit every time I fire it up … and I'm playing more often if that's any indication.

Thank you. I did download the manual and now I have 1 last question that I couldn't find in the manual. Can I use different effects and patches on different tracks, even when it is bounced? |

When you bounce the tracks together you don't lose any of the recorded effects. |
