| I've deleted the factory preset song hoping to increase the "time left" reading a tad, it didn't, not a sinle bloody nanosecond. Anyways, I've been trying to record a song which lasts about 2mins 30secs, drums and badd fine, eventually, but after recording just 2 audio tracks the thing flashed up "FULL".......does that sound right@ shouldn't I be able to store more info than that?? |

You got 7min 30sec with a 16 MByte SMCard.
(Page 86)
This 7min 30sec is for ALL tracks.
(Its not like a tape !)
E.g. if you use all 3 tracks: The total audio time is only 2min 30sec.
If you use only 2 tracks you have 3min 45sec.
Check if you use takes. (Page 53)
If you use only one track but 3 takes the max recording time is 2min 30sec.
(The fun starts with 64 MByte - 11min for 3 tracks) |

That's reassuring, I haven't got a dodgy machine then!!
It's gonna cost me a fortune in cards. If what you're saying is right (which I'm sure it is (you seem to be the resident expert!)) then I 'd be right in thinking you'd get about 3 songs, more or less, on a 64 meg card. I gather from reading the other messages that you can feed a line into the computer and save them there, saving the need for buying cards but for now, while I'm still fiddling with the machine, I'll stick with smart media and cross that bridge when I come to it (being a bit of a technophobe and all)....anyway, thanks for the info. By the way, would it download the entire song including bass and drums?
Hasta la vista |

Buy a SmardMediaCard Reader/Writer and store old songs on your harddisk. |
