You can use whatever recording software you feel comfortable using. I use Goldwave to record so that I can add some finishing touches to the stereo file when I am done... You might want to try Cool Edit or something similar. As long as you are getting a good signal (make sure it isn't too loud, digital distortion=ugly), just press record and play the song.

Egon:
I also use Goldwave, but there are many others available. Just run a cable from the headphone output of the PS-02, to the line-in input of the PC soundcard. After setting up the PC software, just press/click on "record", while pressing the "play" button on the PS-02, and you're in business! This will take the PS-02 analog output while playing, and record it in .wav format. After any "tweaking" on the PC program (compression, reverb, etc.), "save as" and choose mp3 format. This will reduce the size of the file by a factor of ~10.

Windows Recorder ProgramMarch 24 2002, 8:25 AM

Egon ... if you just want to create a wav file you can use the Windows Recorder program to capture the output from the PS-02. You may need to enable the line input on sound card and set the level (right click on speaker icon and then Open Volume Controls). You can play your recording in Sound Recorder or in any other program that supports waveform (.wav) files. Recorded sounds are saved as waveform (.wav) files. The only drawback with this is by default you can only record for 60 sec. but you can get around this by building up a blank song to any length you want but using it's Edit functions (Copy/Combine) and then just load it and record over the blank one and rename it … I did this until I got some better software.
