Has anyone tried using the Pattern Editor with Win XP??
Perhaps it's something I'm doing but I downloaded/bought Armin's Pattern Editor today, and I can't seem to save patterns or rename them. (I downloaded the trial version first). The program says it has done so, but when I try to import them again they revert back to the default version.
I'll try it with my Win 98 comp tommorrow, and see if it's XP or me.
If it is me, again, any help would be appreciated.
1. Print out the EMail from version 1.1
2. Deinstall the old version
3. start the *.msi file
4. enter the serial number (EXACTLY as provided by EMail)
5. close all programs (debuggers, hexeditors - even the notepad !)
6. start the PS02PatternEditor
7. The PatternEditor will ask for:
Username: enter EXACTLY as provided by EMail
Password: enter EXACTLY as provided by EMail
PS02 SN : enter EXACTLY as provided by EMail
If some of this information is not exactly entered the PatternEditor will not operate proberly
Hope to help you
Armin
p.s.
It's not just XP

It's not just XP, but also fails to generate and save or rename patterns on my Win 98 desktop, so I'm downloading again and see if my download was not quite right.
I have deinstalled a number of times and reinstalled but still no joy, anyway my download has just finished, so I'll try again.
Cheers

Still not working
March 9 2002, 9:11 AM
Armin,
it's still not working, it wasn't the download.
Perhaps it's something to do with my password or something, I did have a bit of trouble with my credit card when buying online, so I had to use a differnet card on the third attempt.
Perhaps I could send you the email I received and you could try and see if my user name and password etc works on yours.
I'm not doing something silly am I? I am right in thinking that you load the prgram, then go to file, then song file selection, load a pts file (uncheck the read only box??), then you have to import a PS02 pattern, eg. M8-1-1, when you have done this presumably you should be able to change the drum pattern and then go to generate and save PS02 pattern.
After doing this should M8-1-1 always be the changed pattern, in mine when I import the pattern M8-1-1 again I get the original pattern. Also if I click where it says M8-1-1 and change it to ROCK1 and then go to rename pattern, it says it has changed it, but then shows M8-1-1 in the box after clicking OK. Presumably it shouldn't behave like this.
Sorry to be a pain, if no one else has a problem it sounds like something which is specific to me, but I really would like to get it working. Is it possible for you to send a copy to me directly, with a password etc that definately works okay?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Cheers
Peter
