My first real attempt at using the PS02 with Cooledit2k studio to combine a total of about 10 tracks/takes into a single song. The song is "Another Brick In The Wall Part 1" by Pink Floyd and a cleaner version of it will be added to a Floyd cover tune CD put together by fans on the net.
The music in the recording was done all with a guitar, even the bass near the end is my Ibanez Sabre using the pitch shifter with some effects to make it sound like a bass. The original PS02 version consisted of 6 tracks total all bounced, then I did 4 alternate takes and brought it all together in Cooledit and added the sound effects etc.
Anyway, any feedback would be great... the mp3 is about 5mb and the quality of the mix is not quite what i'm after yet but it will do and gets the idea across
Sounds great Rob! How about vocals, did you use built in mic?

Glad you enjoyed it... I did use the built in mic. I got in real close to it using the VO-BLD patch and literally used my thumb as a way to stop from getting pops and stuff.
Cheers,
Rob
Wow, sounds great

Incredible. What were the patch settings for your fake bass. I've been playing around with using the pitch shift to use guitar as bass too, but it usually sounds pretty bad.

Like the school playground sounds!
Excellent vocal recording - proves you can get a good sound from the built in mic.

Ya the built in mic can be great if you really play with it and find a good way to get right up into it without causing pops and stuff. I almost wish the thing had a little snap in foam guard on it I think it would help in a big way.
As for the fake bass heres the combo, I used the VO-LOW patch from one of the "newer" patch packages at zoom to start with, and modified it this way:
1) Acoustic sim: top 5 body 4 lvl 6
2) OFF
3) Thresh: 10
4) EQ lvl 5: High 12 Mid 1 Low 3
5) Pitch -12 tone 10 balance 30
6) DlyHall: dlytime 1 dlymix 0 revmix 9
7) Plvl: 25 but whatever ya want
Not sure if this will work for you or not.. the result is a tad sketchy really, and I was trying to simulate the sound of the bass on ABITW... but playing around may give various results, also play around with the tone/volume/pickup settings on your guitar while youre doing this I think I had my tone all the way to 0.
Hope this helps
Cheers,
Rob.
good job

Incredible job! I can't believe the quality of all of those bounces. It seems like your bass patch worked well. I have a problem with the lag when I drop it down -12. Chris J

Rob … this is quite a production. I think the quality is great … airwave quality. You know when I tried the thumb technique on the song “I’ll Be There”, I figured out my thumb being real close to the internal mic was causing hiss … could also have been related to the patch & setting too I guess. I’ve never tried the pitch shift yet but bass was sounded great. Harmony and overall clarity seemed perfect too. Great job.

I can't really add anything much to the above. As you are a fan it must be a labour of love!
Good production, imaginative take on the original arrangement, i liked the creative use of delay (was that added in cooledit or done SOLELY on the PS02?).
All your posts here have been top quality ( I've still got the last 2 on my PC) and this is no exception.
