Problem with PatternEditor (operator error?) February 22 2002 at 2:29 AM
I bought Armin's PatternEditor and am impressed by how much it can add to the usefulness of the PS-02.
I have and odd problem. I took the Songs.pts file from the Rock set and replaced the MAIN01, 02, 03, and several other files with patterns of my own. All the patterns appear to be 2 measure patterns.
When I play the patterns in the PatternEditor, they sound fine. When I play them on my PS-02, the 2 bar pattern plays once, then there's an equal period of silence, then the pattern plays again, almost as if the pattern space on the PS-02 is 4 bars long, not 2.
That exactly what I described in the post 'Hidden secrets (Bugs are nice !)'. You found a solution to this in that post. An update of the PS02PatchEditor will be ready next month (3,2002).
Delete 2nd Measure

Paul:
I think I was the first to report the "bug" to Armin. Anyway, after importing the rhythm pattern in Armin's Editor, just click on "pattern", then come down and click delete the 2nd measure. Then modify the pattern to you liking, generate and save, and you'll be good to go.

Thats true, but in this way you got pattern with one measure only.
If you 'retrigger' the pattern in the song you can use pattern with two measures.
2nd Measure

Armin:
Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a try. So far, I seem to be able to do what I want with only one measure...and there are no blank spots.
I use a two measure pattern and build a standard 12 bar blues. I trigger it sometimes after the first measure (only the first measure of the pattern will be played) and sometimes after the second measure (both measures will be played).
e.g. Blues in C
--PatternTrigger---Key
1 AHBLU1 ---------C NON
2 ----
3 AHBLU1
4 ----
5 AHBLU1 ---------F NON
6 ----
7 AHBLU1 ---------C NON
8 ----
9 AHBLU1 ---------G NON
0 AHBLU1 ---------F NON
1 AHBLU1 ---------C NON
2 -------------------G NON
Re: Armin's workaround and thanks Harmony

I will try the 1 measure trick, Harmony. I tried Armin's workaround and it works fine, but since you have to trigger the pattern every 2 measures, programming a song becomes rather tedious.
Armin,
Will this be fixed in the update due in March? Thanks.
