I'm a recent purchaser of this unit, and I must say in the world of technology it's an amazing, almost perfect little beast. I'm in love with it.
Couple things that I thought were obvious blunders in being left off the PS-02 features set were:
1. Being able to fast-forward through a song
2. Being able to punch in and out easier than the crazy procedure it mentions in the manual, and then only hearing the Zoom rhythm track while you're punching in.
Are these things in the manual? I discovered yesterday that:
1. You can fast forward while you're playing a song by pausing, and then pushing the up direction on the big wheel thingy with the arrows. You can rewind the same way. Not very fast, but it's better than listening through the whole song at normal speed to get to a part.
2. Am I crazy, but can you not punch in and out simply by going to a portion of a song, hitting pause, hitting record, pushing pause when you're done punching (or hit stop), and that's it. You haven't destroyed anything before or after that punch-in, as long as you are in "play" mode up to that point, and stop right after. And you can hear all the other tracks. The one thing that's still lacking here is the ability to punch in, pause, and play back right there. You have to stop the track, go to beginning, and fast forward to hear what you just recorded.
Has anyone else discovered these, or did I simply miss it in the manual? I thought I looked and looked for a fast forward option...seemed silly to have to listen to the whole song. Would be really nice to have it go faster, or be able to go to a certain measure, or the fast forward jumps in fifteen second intervals when you press the button.
