Decent Amp models and patches February 5 2002 at 10:49 AM
Is there anywhere you can view some decent Patch settings for my PS-02? If not how can I get some decent ampy sounds without the wounds strings on my les paul or strat going "blurgh!!!" on most settings? I am thinking of getting a V-Amp2 for £99!!!! In the hope that I can get better sounds from it, anyone know about these? I like things like Vox AC-30 sounds and also SRV and light Hendrixy tones but the ones coming out of my PS-02 is not fantastic, im just wondering if the V-Amp2 is worth the extra. Also can I download Armins thingy if im in England?
Liam, I agree that the preset distortion patches sound really harsh with a strat, but check out my post below on getting better sounds for a quick tip using the Volume/Tone controls.
For a nice twangy tone dial in the Beaton patch, pull the gain down to halfway on slider one and use the middle pickup for rhythm, then switch to the bridge for solos (you might want to roll off some of the treble here for a warmer sound).

I hope to finish my PS02PatchEditor this month (Feb 2002). It will be easy to change and modify patches with this tool. I will include a library with a lot of cool sound patches.

Yes, you need a cardreader. Without it you cant do anything:
-backup
-load new songs
-load new patches
-load new sounds
...
A cardreader is the most important add on to the ps02.
