Armin / PE 1.0 --> PS-02 not entirely 1:1 ??!!

...well, I posted a message to this topic some time before but there are still some incompatibilities...:

- when I import or create a pattern with 2 measurements the PS-02 plays it only as long as I donīt insert more measurements, as soon as I insert following measures it drops measurement 2 !?
(so, whereīs the button to insert 8 beat- measurements on the PS-02 ???

- the bass patterns donīt follow my instructions properly...when played on the PS-02 some of the tunes are one semitone below or so...I followed Arminīs advice and used C-major, I transposed, I tried all kinds of tricks, I analysed each tune, but I couldnīt figure out a formula for getting the PE 1.0 tunes into the PS-02 1:1...?!

(the funny thing is: I was partly successfull when deliberately posting wrong tunes in a bass-line of 4 or 5 but as soon as I got one correct the following was wrong again...)

I guess there must be more Zoomers with these problems (or should I say I hope there are...?)

->Yes, the PS02 works this way. Its the same with the buildin pattern.
If you use a pattern with two measurements and you build a song with this pattern. Make shure you use the right name in measurement 1 (e.g. Main01). And NO name in measurement 2 -> 'PTN'. If you use 'Main01' in measurement 2 you get the measurement1 of 'Main01' !

-> 1. see above
-> 2. you can create a real 8 beat mesurement with the PS02PatternEditor use the menu:'Pattern/New Pattern' choose Beat '8/4'

-> please send me your song file - I'll check it !

bye Armin

...how it works :-)January 30 2002, 3:36 AM

thank you for your help, Armin, I think I slowly begin to see through it all...;-)

...well, I checked the bass-problem out once more and I think I got it: after having created a bassline on the PE 1.0 youīll finally have to check and work it out with the PS-02...

Say, you put it "C -> D -> E" in the PE 1.0 youīll have to transpose it to "C" in the PS-02 cause the machine basically does it in "A min".

I hope itīs that simple, weīll see...

solution for different basslineFebruary 1 2002, 5:51 AM

I had the same problem with different bassline on PS-02 compared to the one I made on Armins pattern editor.
I solved this problem by putting the chord on C, but not "Major" but "NON". You can get this by putting second slider -after a movement to start it working- at top possition. Then there are no transformations and the bassline is played as made in Armin's tool.
Look in the English manual at page 24.
Succes
