Advice/Info Please

Jerry

I currently play and sing (amateur) acoustic guitar mainly stuff from late 60's up to the current day including James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel, America, Tracy Chapman etc etc.

I have some shareware software FASOFT which I use to produce demos for gigs etc. As I only record guitar and voice it's usually pretty simple stuff.

I can't seem to master adding drums/bass tracks etc as I find the sequencing/drum machine software too difficult to use. It's also such a pain connecting up all my guitar mic, computer etc etc.

Anyay this PS-02 seems very simple for what I want and may enable me to lay down slightly more exiciting tracks with perhaps added drums and bass.

My current gear incliudes Guild Electro Acoustic, Zoom 504 (I like this very much) and Digetech Vocolist performer for voice harmonies/doubling etc.

The PS-02 has just come down in price here in the UK to under £200 pounds!

As a non techy when it comes to recording, sequencing etc and just wanting to lay down some simple tracks when I am playing, will the PS-02 fit the bill ?

Certainly this forum should help as well if I get stuck !!

Regards

Jerry

After a day of futzing you'll have the PS-02 figured out and be churning out tune after tune. I'd say go for it.

It sounds like the ps02 would make a great companion to you. It's true that the ps02 gets kind of tricky when you are interested in recording full bands with live drums, etc. but this thing is made for songwriters such as yourself. Much more easier to setup and use than CPU recording is (you mentioned you are using n-track right?)... plus built in mic, fx, drum and bass makes it perfect to put in your guitar case and record wherever you go.

Which Simm (SmartMedia Card) 128 or 64 ?January 15 2002, 9:44 AM

Thanks for the replies. Yes I am currently using N-Track (nice bit of shareware).

I have phoned my local music shop and they are ordering in a PS-02 for me to look at tommorow.

If I go for it should I buy the 128mb or 64mb simm that's now my next question ?

Regards

Jeremy
