Wav Converters
January 1 2002 at 5:47 PM

Just go my PS-02. I can't seem to find this question anywhere so forgive me if it has been covered already. Is there a way to convert my 20 bit 31.25hz to 16 bit 44.1hz and vise versa? If so, how? I am using cakewalk and would like to send stuff back and forth. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

struggle w/ this too!January 2 2002, 6:54 PM

I don't think you can increase the frequency (common sense guess - likely wrong).
Are you dumping songs off your SM cards into your PC via a card reader? That's my problem. I have to bump up the frequency of the .wav file to get into .mp3 format. Seems to add noise.
Interested to hear what others have to say.

using almost any wav editing software (try cool edit or sound forge) you can resample any wave or change the sample rate by saving it as a new file with a new sample rate. This will not improve the sound quality and in fact may diminish it.

Using most MP3 conversion software you can start with a Wav of any sample rate and create an MP3.
