Ps02 as pre amp? December 31 2001 at 1:14 AM | daled
|
| Simple question: can I use the Ps02 as a pre amp to record through my CPUs soundcard? Is the 'output' a line-level out? would something like this work?:
guitar --> ps02input --> ps02output --> soundcardline-in
let me know if anyone has done this too. |

the headphone out is line level. If it sounds good in the phones, it should work. |

Are you sure the headphone out is line level? I really dont think so but I think that the 1/4" 'output' is a line level. If you plug the headphone out into the soundcards line in you can fry your soundcard! |

I would start with the volume low, around 1 or 2, then slowly inch it up till your record meters are almost but not quite going into the red. If you don't have record meters to look at, download the free version of Sound Forge from Sonic Foundry, or try N-track.
Always, with all sound equipment, it's best to start with pots turned down when making connections, then slowly raise levels till things sound right. |
