I've been doing a lot of recording on the PS-02 and transferring the songs to the computer. I've tried all the tips on this site to get the best possible result and sound-wise I have no complaints. The problem for me is volume. I was wondering if there were any programs on the net that could boost the volume without clipping/distortion. Basically is there a program that allows you to master your songs on the computer?
Try using Goldwave editing software (available for free on the net, just search). From here you can EQ, fade-in/out, and other basic editing stuff as well as 'normalize' your file, which will boost the overall volume w/o clipping... The only problem here is that if you have a few large spikes in the recording while the rest is generally quiet, the normalization can only increase the sound a little bit because of the spikes. You can get around this by manually making the spikes smaller by reducing their volume and then normalize the file...
I hope this made some sense.
One word, "compression"

Try sound editing shareware that has compression, that will tame the peaks and allow you to boost the entire song's volume when you normalize.
I use Sound Forge.

I tried Goldwave and it's exactly what I'm after. I've got my songs to CD loudness and quality simply by boosting the volume and playing with the eq. I'm going to give Sound Forge a try and i'll let you know how it goes.
Ozone with Sound Forge

Ozone is a DirectX plug in by Izotope that is specifically designed for mastering. I am currently using it with sound forge, and it rocks!
