PatchLib Tool?
December 15 2001 at 5:22 AM

I just came across Armin´s PatchLib Tool - well, it´s stunning, alright, but - I´m awfully sorry, I know it´s a very silly question - I don´t have the final clue what to use it for...?

Each of the 3 patches contains the same 60 effects...
Why should I save those 60 effects or part of it in another file?

I´s be grateful for a quick hint...

How I Use ItDecember 15 2001, 10:32 AM

hapax … I use it to rearrange the User.pch to suite my needs.

Example:

I moved the mix patches to positions 1 – 3.

I left the next three positions empty so I can copy any 3 of my favorite patches into these positions on the PS-02. These are my working patches that I expect to use during a recording session, maybe even modify. My main patch is usually patch # 5 … that way I can quickly switch up and down one position during a normal break in a song to get the different sounds I want.

Patch positions 7 – 27 are just my favorite patches that I want rearranged to be close together.

I’m sure everyone uses this differently but this is how I use it.

Different card setsDecember 17 2001, 10:05 PM

There are different patches in the card sets. For example the "phaser" or "black" patches were removed from the original when producing the Hip Hop and Rock sets. So you can use the tool to mix and match the card sets to your own preference. Plus you'll be able to easily load new user-made patches as people start posting them.
