I'm trying to get a reverse engineering effort together to see what we can figure out about the data on the smartmedia. Anyone out there with a smartmedia reader who wants to volunteer to make certain changes to the default configuration so we can study the effects (and not wear out my PS-02 by doing it all on one unit)?
Hi,
I'm ready to help. How do you want to proceed? How can we split the tasks?
Cheers

It looks like we've about got the effects name thing licked. Depending on how far we want to go with the librarian we may need folks to take a predesigned patch and modify one setting of it in some specified order for analysis.
We may not end up doing that for patches since it would be cumbersome to make changes, dump them to the smartmedia, plug it into the unit, listen, pop it out, put it in your smartmedia reader, load the file, make changes, repeat. However, we may want to be able to identify parts of the patches so they can be categorized. It would be nice to do that automatically rather than relying on folks recollections...
Hang loose for a bit and lets see where we are after this last batch of samples. We won't work your unit to death, I promise. A little bit of wear on a few peoples PS-02's is better than a lot of wear on mine.
I'm willing
