| The output from this unit is so quiet. I have to turn my stereo WAY up to get any volume out of it. And when I dump song to the computer, I have to run it thru Sound Forge to get a decent volume. Is the output supposed to be that quiet, and why? |

The volume should not be low. Are you using the headphone jack or the output jack? Try both. The volume control controls the headphone output. The slider position controls the output as well, depending on the mode you are in... If you've tried all this, and checked your connections, I'd suspect a bad cable or possibly a defective unit. |

Hey, thanks for the response...ok, things sound much better using the headphone jack. I was running everything out of the output jack. Plenty of volume in the phones from the phone jack. BUT! The volume is still too low to get a good recording when dumping to my computer. I performed a small test, recording the "02Demo" (using Goldwave) from first the h.p. jack, then the output jack. The recording level indicator reached "-18" with the output jack, and "-12" thru the h.p. jack. All PS-02 volumes on full. By the way, the recording levels were viewed with SoundForge. Once I normalize the files, everything is great... I just thought I should be able to get as good a level right off, like I am used to getting with my Tascam. Mainly, I want to make sure my unit is working correctly. Only had it 3 days now, plenty of time to return it if necessary.
Thanks for your help! |
