Bass programming

| Hi,
Is it possible to record more than one bass chord in a single beat tick (in a 4/4 or a 3/4 scheme)? If yes, how many?
i.e let's suppose that in the bass line to be recorded there are 12 different bass notes to insert in every beat cycle (4/4), can it be programmed note by note in PS-O2?

You can switch patterns and key every beat, but you can't program every note.

I don't want to completely contradict you....but I will.hehe. If the bass plays on every quarter measure it is possible to change it on every quarter measure using the patch up/down keys in chord edit mode. But you have to pick a patch where the bass plays a constant "chugging" style(like a rock patch). The chord will only change however when the bass plays a note. So if you have a measure where the bass plays only once you will only hear the bass play that single note no matter what other chord information you put in later in the measure.
This method is good if you don't like where the bass is "walking" because you can change a bum note on say the 3rd beat of a measure and change it back to the original chord on the 4th measure. As long as the bass plays on each beat. Phew!! Who would have thought bass could be so complex.

Thanks guys! I've followed Dempsey's instructions and applied them to the main-1-8-Rock. It works! Still, at some point in a bass line, i need to insert a "silence" bass key. Do u think it's possible.

Dempsey, I don't think what we're saying is inconsistent, but you gave a more detailed example of what to do on the beat to change a note.

The bass track does not support a 12 note scale. I have not figured it out but it is more like pentatonic. This can be varified by playing with the 1044.

you can change the chord type (minor, major 7th, dim etc..) in the rhythm recording menu and this will affect the scale if the bass line has the relevent notes that are affected by the scale change (did that make sense?)
but there is an option for non denomination if your just using 5's
