Hi ppl. I´m wondering if anyone of you guys have any settings to share. I own a Ps-02, going to use it on a demo-cd. kind of dream theater-metal style. I think the original ps-02 presets are great, but i want something different. Heavy, clean, crunchy with lots of distortion.. it would feel a bit like christmas if anyone have some tips on this issue.
read the earlier post by dempsey - "this'll come in handy - read this!!".... its a bit tricky but does work with practice.
if you only have access to the preset patterns try recording a riff/rhythm/progresion in you prefered tempo then edit the drum track to double the tempo or half it. you'll have to mess around with the order of changes quite a bit but it can have have some dramatic effects to a song.
i had one that was 180 bpm with the guitar going as hard as i could to keep up. dropped the tempo to 90 bpm and it was like a different song!
i try it with everything i write now.

patches

What I believe Patrick is after is a shared resource of modified patches, so he can have a heavy distortion like Dream Theater or the chorus sound of Nirvana, etc, etc. Other Zoom websites have this kind of thing i.e. the 505 and GFX707, and is something I believe is sadly missing from the PS-02 scene.
What we need is a web database of new patches. I guess it's down to us to sort it though. hands up anyone.

Yes, like.. the values of the eq, how much distortion, what kind of amp etc. I think that would be very helpful for many users.

Post them here

If people post their presets here or email them to me I'll post them at our home page. If you're really ambitious send me an mp3 demonstrating the sound of the preset and I'll post that too. This could be very useful.
www.gfx707.com has a nice format for posting patches and sound file samples on its web site that is dedicated to that particular Zoom device. I would be very interested in swapping presets in that manner.

I actually havent spent enough time to find the 'perfect distortion' as I have just trying to get years of song ideas down before they're gone forever... But, I like to record one track using the Matcrunch preset (i think thats the name?) with the gain cranked up to 30 and then double that track using the Black preset (without the delay), and then pan them 5l and 5r. The Matcrunch gives a loud and crunchy sound, while the doubled Black gives the recording more definition.
Thats cool

Thanks Daled, i´ll try that. It´s so damn hard to get good guitarsound, i only use the ps-02 with the guitars and bass, record everything with cubase vst. For the drums i hook up a set of roland mididrums. I work in a musicstore, so i borrow whatever i need from day to day. But as i said, guitars are very tricky, i´ve used, boss-gt3, line6-pod, etc..etc. but i really like the ps02 best. its wicked
