i had the dreaded CRDERR warning come up on my screen yesterday. i tryed another card and it came up with the same message.i power cycled the system and this worked for the second card so i reinserted the first card. (the one with most of my finished stuff on.) tryed a power cycle again and it flashed up FRMTING...i tryed not to panic and think of the right thing to do...should i switch of while th box was reading the card?....pull the card out?...hit every button?
by then it was too late...everything was lost...months of work gone.
If you don't have a USB card reader, you can backup your card to a PC hard disk with the FlashPath SmartMedia adapter (actually a dummy 3.5" floppy disk) approx £50 - info at: www.smartdisk.com, and manage your material with the free Card Manager software from www.zoom.co.jp
In my experience, a CRDERR message is most likely to result from switching between battery and mains power while the unit is turned on, so this should be avoided.
