i just can't seem to get a strong enough sound when recording bass guitar directly in to a track. anyone got any good tips for tweeking any of the patches to really bring the bass out without swamping the rest of the song.
It doesn't sound like you're in need of a bass amp if you are looking to record on the PS-02. If you are using the preset patches, I found that they were weak, and I don't use them. But if you fiddle with the amp and speaker cabinets, there are a couple there that work really well.
I am assuming that you have adjusted the volume of the effect patch by increasing the "total", and if that is not enough then increase the "EQ level".
The PS-02 DOES work good for Bass so keep tweeking and good luck.

I have been having the same problem trying to get a hot bass tone to track well. I'll have to try tweaking.

cheers guys!
its was simple in the end....
starting with the finger bass patch i boosted the level to 27 and turned the high EQ down a bit and it sounds fantastic! big rich sound....works just fine with a pick as well.
good work fellas!
Zoom Palmstudio with Bass Pod?

Has anyone done any recording with a bass POD? I have done some with a bypass patch(everything turned off as talked about in earlier posts) and I am pleased with the results but I am still new to recording bass. Just curious for tips and how other people are running processors(guitar/bass/synths) through the palmstudios.
