recording over original drum track

| hi folks
i was wondering if i can record(guitar,etc) over
the drum and bass tracks
that come with the ps02,and later on delete the
recorded tracks
without affecting the length of the original drums
or the way they are made
i just can't find any thing in the manual about this,
and don't want to mess up the settings
ta very much :¬)

The drum and bass tracks are on their own tracks. the audio is on it's own tracks. Changing one does not effect the other.

Further to huggy bear, the drum and bass are midi messages, these are completly different from audio tracks.
